INVITATION
Dear electrolyzer & hydrogen stakeholder,
On behalf of the Horizon 2020 QualyGridS project, I would like to invite you to the project’s final virtual international workshop on qualifying test protocols for electrolyzers to perform grid services, on Monday 29 June, at 13.00 – 15.00 hrs. UTC+2 / CEST.
The workshop is organized by the QualyGridS research consortium. The project developed new standardized qualifying testing protocols for electrolyzers, which demonstrate that state-of-the-art low temperature electrolyzers can perform grid balancing services (a.o. FCR, FRR and RR). Sustainable production of hydrogen is a key element of the European energy transition agenda, especially for seasonal and mobile energy storage purposes. Water electrolyzers producing hydrogen from renewable electricity for decarbonization in various sectors can improve their revenues by providing electricity grid services and lowering market entry for electrolyzers. The project assessed the economic viability by analyzing business cases of electrolysers performing grid services.
The workshop features key note speakers from top European research institutes and industry on the project’s main findings on the topics below. Also, the EU Joint Research Centre will shed light on their latest activities on low-temperature water electrolysis testing protocols.
Programm:
- Introduction
- Electricity grids and services
- Testing protocols for Electrolyzers
- LTWE testing protocols [by EU Joint Research Centre]
- Electrolyzers
o Alkaline
o PEM
- Economic analysis of electrolyzers performing grid services
- Recommendations , exploitation, standardization activities
Do you want to know more? See the QualyGridS website or register directly by sending an e-mail to Lennart de Waart: Lennart.dewaart@nen.nl. Registration is free-of-charge and mandatory.
